Top 10 Fragrances - My All Time Favourites!

21st March is National Fragrance Day so I thought I'd post 10 of my favourite fragrances!

I love Jimmy Choo's Flash. It is such a unique fragrance. It doesn't have the best staying power but it is still one of my favourites.

Jimmy Choo Viva La Juicy La Fleur is another favourite of mine. It is sweet and fruity. I love the chunky bottle as well.

Nina Ricci's Ricci Ricci is a lovely, deep fragrance. One of the key notes is rhubarb which you don't find in many fragrances. The bottle is also beautiful. It has a lovely shape and has a plastic ribbon wrapped around the neck.

Lolita Lempicka Eau de Minuit is an amazing fragrance. It is released every year with a different bottle design. It is a more intense version of the original Lolita Lempicka eau de parfum. It is sweet and powdery. The notes include liquorice flower and iris.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is a gorgeous fragrance. It has a citrusy element but it is not a run of the mill citrusy fragrance. It is composed exceptionally well. I love it and it has great staying power too.

I love Cacharel Noa. I have bought this fragrance over and over again. It is a lovely soft, feminine fragrance made interesting by the incense note. There is also supposed to be a coffee note in this fragrance but I can't really tell.

Marc Jacob Lola is a lovely, floral fragrance. It is quite rosy, but it really stands out from the crowd. It seems to have a lot of depth to it.

Taylor of London's fragrance Panache is one of my favourites. It has floral and aldehydic notes. It is the most inexpensive fragrance of this bunch at £14.99 for 100ml. It is a great fragrance though.

Chloe eau de parfum is one I notice other people wearing all of the time. It is quite a soapy scent and has excellent staying power and good projection.

Vera Wang's Lovestruck is a deep, floral fragrance with musk in the base.

My 2016 perfumes!

My final post of the year is always about the year's perfumes that I have acquired.

I have just 5 fragrance releases from 2016.
I have the Marc Jacobs Daisy Blush range; Daisy Blush, Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush and Daisy Dream Blush.

I also got Vera Wang's Princess Revolution.
Also Jimmy Choo Illicit Flower.

In 2017 Marc Jacobs are due to release a new set of Daisy limited editions called the Daisy Kiss collection.
I am excited to try them out and they will inevitably end up in my collection.

There is also another Vera Wang Princess fragrance coming out called Princess Of Hearts which I will also probably be getting hold of. I have a real soft spot for the Princess line and I am disappointed that they stopped releasing the 100ml sized bottles. Since Pink Princess was released in 2013 the fragrances have only been released in 30ml and 50ml bottles. I don't think the scents are as good as those released prior to 2013 if I'm honest, but I still look forward to trying this one!

I haven't been too excited by the fragrances released in 2016. Hopefully 2017 will see some exciting fragrance releases. We will have to wait and see.

November Favourites 2016

This month I have been using Along Came Betty Hands That Do Wishes Dry Hands Lotion in peach and apricot, which is such a lovely scent. Along Came Betty is a brand by Tesco.

I finally got round to using my Bomb Cosmetics Free Spirit soap which is really pretty and I love it.

Carex's chocolate orange scented hand wash had become really difficult to find, but I managed to get hold of a bottle at the beginning of this month. I'd forgotten how good it smells. I really want to try the Carex strawberry laces hand sanitiser, which I have seen online, but not in the shops.

Marc Jacobs Decadence has been my most popular fragrance this month. I absolutely love it. It smells great, has good projection and lasts all day.

I have been wearing my 1 carat diamond ring a lot this month. It has two bands of channel set diamonds between three bands of round cut diamonds and it is 9ct gold. I have had it for a few years. It really glistens in the light.

I got my Disney Winnie The Pooh 'Fly Me To The Moon' pyjamas the Christmas before last and have worn the bottoms a lot but I don't usually wear the top as it is a t-shirt and I always prefer not to wear sleeves, but I have been wearing the full set more lately and the top is actually really comfortable. I love Disney pyjamas! I've bought (and been bought) some lovely sets as gifts over the years.

I have been using Alberto Balsam's mandarin and papaya shampoo this month. The scent is amazing. I was obsessed with this shampoo a few years ago and haven't bought this one for a while. I suspect I'll be buying more again soon. I also love their blueberry scented shampoo.

I absolutely love this Sanctuary Brightening Facial Radiance Exfoliator. It makes my skin feel brand new. It really feels like a deep clean. I think I have loved every product I have ever tried by this brand, but this exfoliator especially.

How I'd Spend £500.00 in Debenhams!

If I had £500.00 to blow in Debenhams here is how I would do it.

I'd start off with Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence. The 100ml eau de parfum is £96.00. I love the original Decadence. I wore it yesterday and could smell it all day!

Next I would pick up Too Faced Candlelight glow powder for £25.00.

I would buy two new MAC make-up brushes; MAC 239 eyeshader brush for £21.00 and MAC 227 large fluff brush £23.50.

I would try Kat Von D's Studded Kiss lipstick for £16.00. I'm not a huge fan of the packaging. It looks rather bulky but look at the cute little Kat Von D logo on the lipstick and how nice is the colour in the picture?

I don't think I've ever bought clothes from Wallis before but they have loads of lovely stuff at the minute. This gorgeous, berry top is £35.00.

MAC's dusky rose eyeshadow palette is just £25.00 which I think is amazing value.

If £500.00 doesn't make itself available for me to blow I will be putting Clinique's Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator on my Christmas list. It is £34.00 for 50ml. I had a 15ml sample of this a while ago and loved it!

Tom Ford's White Patchouli is £108.00 for 100ml. It is another long lasting scent and it has been on my want list for years.

I would also get myself a Clinique chubby stick intense moisturising lip colour balm for £17.50.

Another purchase I would make would be Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum for £72.00.

I also love this cute Red Herring white pompom hat which is only £8.00.

My final purchase would be this Miss Selfridge gingham pink/cream/camel scarf, which is £16.00 and takes my total spend to £497.00.

I think that would be £497.00 well spent!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Shine Editions!

A few days ago I spotted this Daisy Shine range by Marc Jacobs.

There is Daisy Shine Gold, Daisy Shine Pink and Daisy Shine Red.

The fragrances are all the same as the original Daisy and they are eau de parfums.

The composition combines strawberry, violet leaf, pink grapefruit, gardenia, violet, jasmine petals, white woods, vanilla and musk.

It is a light, fresh, uplifting scent. I used to spray the eau de toilette on just before going to sleep.

I love the Daisy range and have all of the previous releases.

There is the original eau de toilette with the white daisy petals on the lid of the bottle. This was the first Daisy release back in 2007.

The original eau de parfum came in a black bottle with gold daisies, which came out the following year, 2008.

The fragrances that followed were all limited editions.

Daisy Bloom was released in 2009.

Daisy Garland was released in 2010.

Daisy Pop Art came in a red bottle which was released in 2010.

Daisy Hot Pink was released in 2011.

Daisy Silver was released in 2009.

Daisy Sunshine was released in 2013.

Daisy Delight was released in 2014.

Daisy Sorbet was released in 2015.

Daisy Blush was released in early 2016.

There is also the Daisy Eau So Fresh range which I have also collected.

There is Daisy Eau So Fresh which is the only one that is not a limited edition. It was released in 2011 and is still very popular.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine was released in 2013 at the same time as Daisy Sunshine and another fragrance called Oh Lola! Sunsheer.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Delight was released in 2014 along with Daisy Delight.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Sorbet was part of the 2015 collection along with Daisy Sorbet.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush was released in 2016 along with Daisy Blush and Daisy Dream Blush.
Daisy Dream was released on its own in 2014 and was followed in 2015 by Daisy Dream Forever, the only difference in the bottle was blue daisies instead of white. Then Daisy Dream Blush was released along with Daisy Blush and Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush in 2016.
I am a bit obsessed with Marc Jacobs fragrances but I feel like they are getting too greedy now and I can't keep up with them all as they're coming out.

I wouldn't mind one of the new Daisy Shine bottles, but I'm undecided on which colour I'd choose.

Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence

Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence is due to be released in September 2016.

I loved Decadence which was released in 2015 and was described as Marc Jacobs' first 'mature' fragrance. It is very deep and totally different from any other fragrance I own. Hopefully Divine Decadence will fall into the same category.

The fragrance notes are bergamot, champagne, orange blossom, gardenia, hydrangea, honeysuckle, amber, saffron and vanilla.

The notes in the original Decadence fragrance are plum, saffron, iris, Bulgarian rose, Sambac jasmine, orris root, amber, vetiver and papyrus wood so the notes differ a lot between the two fragrances. It will be interesting to try Divine Decadence when it comes out and see if it lives up to the original.

Everything's Rosy!

I have just ordered Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Rose.

I love rose scents. I don't like that the bottle is glittery and I didn't know if I was going to like the scent as lots of fragrance claim to be rosy but aren't as I had imagined. I don't really think of Flowerbomb La Vie en Rose as a rose scented fragrance, but I do love it. As the bottle is glittery, part of me didn't want to like this scent and have to add it to my collection, but it has a lovely rosy scent so I just had to add it to my collection.

I have a few rose scented fragrances in my collection already.

Nina Ricci Mademoiselle Ricci has a soft rose scent that is feminine and subtle. The bottle is beautiful as well with the rounded glass with a ribbon design wrapped around it.

John Galliano eau de toilette is a more vibrant take on rose with good projection and a very uniquely designed bottle.

Marc Jacobs Lola has a combination of floral notes. It isn't strictly a rose scented fragrance, but you can definitely smell the rose in it. I absolutely love Lola!

Ghost eau de toilette is a gorgeous scent. I wore it yesterday. It is surprisingly long lasting for an eau de toilette and the scent of rose dominates this fragrance.

Another rose scented fragrance I'd like to add to my collection is Chloe's Roses de Chloe. I've had it on my list for a while because who doesn't need another lovely, rosy scent?

Huge Perfume Haul 2016!

You usually find there are plenty of online offers over bank holidays as you have longer to wait for your items in the post.

I picked up one of my biggest hauls of perfume ever over the bank holiday at the end of March.

I got 5 Marc Jacobs fragrances including the whole Daisy Blush collection; Daisy Blush, Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush and Daisy Dream Blush.
I also got Daisy Dream Forever which was released in 2015 and Decadence which I don't think is from the same range.

I love them all.
Decadence is a long lasting fragrance with notes of iris, amber and woods. It is quite creamy. I'm not crazy about the bottle design, but the scent is gorgeous!
Daisy Blush is a fresh, white floral scent.
Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush has quite a citrusy scent to begin with and develops quickly into a soft, sweet, floral.
Daisy Dream Blush is a soft, powdery floral scent. It has notes of violet leaf, rose and freesia.
Daisy Dream Forever is a lot sweeter and less harsh than the original Daisy Dream, which had white flowers on the bottle.

I also bought Vera Wang by Vera Wang, which I love. It is quite a mature white floral fragrance.

Jimmy Choo Illicit is such an interesting scent. To begin with it reminds me of Nina by Nina Ricci, but it is a bit deeper than Nina. It has notes of ginger, amber and honey. It is very warming.

Jimmy Choo Blossom smells like one of Escada's summer fragrances. It is sweet and has a tropical, fruity scent. In my mind the bottle design and the scent don't work well together. It is a lovely, light summer scent though.

L'Artisan Parfumeur La Chasse Aux Papillons is a light but unique floral fragrance with notes of bergamot, jasmine, orange blossom, tuberose and lime blossom.

March Favourites 2016

These are my March favourites.

First of all my sister bought this Original Source Tropical Pineapple shower gel for me and it is lovely. You hardly ever find pineapple scented toiletries. I love this, but have been trying to savour it as it's quite difficult to find in the shops.

I have been loving Marc Jacobs Lola eau de parfum this month. It has a lovely, floral scent without being as sweet as you may expect.

My hair straighteners broke recently so I managed to scrounge my sister's old GHD straighteners from her. They are the white ones with a pink design on them. They were a limited edition design a few years ago. I love GHD straighteners. They work really well.

My husband got some Avon Senses grapefruit and cedarwood hair and body wash for Christmas which he has been using this month and I love the scent. I don't use it on my hair; just as a body wash and the scent is great, but the lid is a nightmare to open.

I have rediscovered Avon's Luxe polished rose lipstick this month and I love it. It is easy to apply, feels comfortable and is fairly long wearing.

I love this check scarf that I bought a few months ago. It is really soft and I love the pattern.

I put these tanzanite earrings in for the first time this month. I bought them last year from one of the jewellery channels. They are comfortable and look very pretty.

My March 2015 favourites last year included this navy dress from Boohoo.com and this March I have been loving it all over again. It is really comfortable and flattering and it is easy to dress up or down.

National Fragrance Day!

Today is National Fragrance Day according to The Fragrance Foundation!

I am going to list 10 fragrances that I think make great gifts.

1) Jimmy Choo Flash - This is probably my favourite fragrance. I have bought it for so many of my friends and family. It is very distinctive.

2) Lolita Lempicka Eau de Minuit - I bought this for my mother a few years ago. I love the liquorice flower in this. It is similar to the original Lolita Lempicka eau de parfum only more intense and it is released every year in a different bottle.

3) Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy La Fleur - This is a lovely, sweet scent and the bottle is young and fun.

4) Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is one of my favourite fragrances. I think Chanel's Chance range is very different to their other fragrances. This one is gorgeous and it lasts well on my skin.

5) Nina Ricci Ricci Ricci - I received this fragrance as a gift and have since bought it as a gift for other people as well. It is my favourite Nina Ricci fragrance.

6) Marc Jacobs Daisy - Most fragrances in this line by Marc Jacobs would make great gifts. Daisy has a lovely, fresh floral scent with a distinctive 'Marc Jacobs scent' which runs right through the Marc Jacobs fragrance range.

7) Vera Wang Preppy Princess - I love all of the Princess fragrances. I recently found Preppy Princess is available on allbeauty.com and I have my eye on it as a gift for my sister. I wasn't a huge fan of the bottle design when I first got it, but the fragrance is lovely.

8) Vivienne Westwood Boudoir - This fragrance is floral and to be honest I'm not sure if it will be to everyone's taste so perhaps it wouldn't make the best gift, but I love it and it lasts so long on my skin.

9) Chloe Chloe - I was given Chloe by Chloe as a gift and it is one that I have bought for other people as well. It is another fragrance with great lasting power.

10) Ghost Anticipation - This was the first Ghost fragrance that I bought for myself and I have since bought it for both of my sisters. It has a light floral scent. It is very similar to Victoria Beckham's Instinct.

First Impressions Of The New DKNY And Marc Jacobs Ranges!

I finally got to try the new DKNY range this week after trying the Marc Jacobs range last week.

I will give the DKNY fragrances another try, but I was quite disappointed with the version in the orange bottle, Citrus Pulse and the version in the pink bottle, Loving Glow. They didn't seem to last long at all.
Bright Crush which comes in the green bottle was the best of the bunch. It has notes of honeydew melon, bergamot, blackcurrant, plum, frangipani, peony, golden amber, vanilla and creamy woods.
It has a sweet, fruity scent.

I also tried the Marc Jacobs range and loved them all. They have that signature Marc Jacobs scent which is instantly recognisable in almost all of the Marc Jacobs fragrances in the Daisy range.
I have to say Daisy Dream Blush was my favourite of the three.
It has notes of pear, water lily, honeysuckle, woods and musk.

January Perfume Haul

I have bought plenty of perfume this year already.

I mentioned in a post in December that I had wanted to buy a 125ml bottle of Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh, which I am now the proud owner of.

I also bought Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire eau de parfum gift set with the 30ml bottle of fragrance and a 75ml body milk. It is also a scent I have thought about purchasing for a while and I love it. With notes of rose, liquorice and smoked black tea it is delicious as it sounds!

L'Aimant is a fragrance I have seen in the shops since I was a child, but have never seen a tester to try it out so I bought it in a gift set in the Boots sale. It is an inexpensive fragrance anyway. It is a nice, aldehydic scent that has been compared to Chanel No. 5.

New 2016 Perfumes!

There are lots of new fragrances coming out this year.

There are three new Marc Jacobs releases; Daisy Blush, Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush and Daisy Dream Blush.

They all sound like nice springtime scents and I look forward to trying them.

Their colour scheme fits well with Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy Rose which is another 2016 release. I love rose scents so I think this one will be interesting. I think the bottle is awful though. I'm not keen on glitter on bottles and this one seems to be opaque which I think takes away from the lovely squared-off shape of the bottle.

Nina Ricci is releasing Nina Pop which is the same scent as the original Nina in a colourful bottle. This is to celebrate 10 years since Nina's release.

..But the winner of the most hideous bottle design goes to Moschino's Fresh Couture, which comes in a bottle made to look like a bathroom cleaning spray. I think the bottle is quite shocking. Who came up with this terrible idea?!

My 2015 perfumes!

In my opinion 2015 hasn't been a great year for fragrance.

I got 9 newly released fragrances this year which is less than 2013 and 2014, although there are a few on the want list that still haven't made their way into my collection.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sorbet and Daisy Eau So Fresh Sorbet were released at the beginning of 2015 both of which are lovely. I have bought the Daisy and Daisy Eau So Fresh limited edition releases over the past few years and they have all been really nice.
Daisy Sorbet is a lovely white floral scent with a hint of sweet violet. It is very uplifting and it makes me think of springtime.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Sorbet is a much sweeter, fruitier scent. It is my favourite of the two which is great because it comes in a larger 75ml bottle; Daisy Sorbet comes in a 50ml bottle.

Nina Ricci Delices de Nina was also released early in the year. It is quite sweet and is an obvious relative of the original Nina with its metallic-like scent. I have to admit it is similar to other Nina Ricci releases in the apple shaped bottles, but I do really like it.

I bought Chanel Chance Eau Vive as soon as it came out. It is a nice addition to the Chance line. It has its own personality. It is citrusy but also floral. I really like it, but the original Chance and Chance Eau Fraiche are my favourites from this amazing line.

DKNY Delicious Delights Dreamsicle is a sweet, peach scented fragrance. It is light and summery. This was released alongside Delicious Delights Cool Swirl and Delicious Delights Fruity Rooty and although I think they're all terribly named they are all great, original scents; not smelling similar to the other fragrances from the Be Delicious line.

DKNY Delicious Delights Cool Swirl is pistachio scented. It is quite sweet, but it also has a play-doh type scent to it.

DKNY Delicious Delights Fruity Rooty combines delicious, sweet berries with violet and rose. This is the sweetest of the three fragrances.
I couldn't choose a favourite of the three Delicious Delights fragrances. They are all so different and uniquely delightful.

I got Marc Jacobs Violet for Christmas. It has a sweet, creamy floral scent with a touch of fizziness. It doesn't really smell like violets at all to me.

I ordered Vera Wang Hippie Princess online today. I tried it when it first came out and really liked it. It is a sweet, fruity scent. I wonder if 2016 will see another Princess release.

There are some other fragrances from 2015 that I do want to add to my collection, but have not purchased yet, Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Forever, Jimmy Choo Illicit and Marc Jacobs Decadence being the main fragrances I have my eye on!

10 Fragrances On My Want List!

Here are 10 fragrances I have had on my want list for what seems like ages. There are a few new fragrances I am eager to get my hands on, but these ones seem to have been on my list for ages.

I love perfume and I have a huge collection, but there's always something more out there that I would love.

Dior's Dolce Vita is an underrated fragrance. I hardly ever hear people mention it. I love a lot of Dior's scents and the ones I own have the best longevity and projection of all of the fragrances I have.

It seems like I am the only person who doesn't own Paco Rabanne's Lady Million. It has been on my want list for ages.

I tried Vera Wang Be Jeweled when it first came out and I liked it, but never did get round to purchasing it.

I absolutely love Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb, but I couldn't choose between the eau de toilette and the eau de parfum so didn't get round to buying either. I have the Flowerbomb La Vie En Rose fragrance and I love that one too.

Sisley Soir De Lune is another fragrance I've had on my list for a while. This is a 2006 creation.

I was going to get Tom Ford Violet Blonde for Christmas last year, but then I wanted Tom Ford's Velvet Orchid which came out so Violet Blonde is still on the 'to get' list.

Gucci Flora is another classic I haven't got round to purchasing. I have a few of the garden collection versions; Glorious Mandarin (yellow) and Gorgeous Gardenia (pink).

Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia is another fragrance I would really like. It has a lovely scent; one of my favourites from Jo Malone.

I love Frederic Malle's Lipstick Rose. I tried it in Liberty's early this year and I was impressed with the scent and the longevity so it's definitely one I hope to get my hands on at some point in the future.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh is another classic that I still don't have. A lot of people have said that this is their wedding day scent. I really want to get the 125ml bottle even though it'll take me years to get through.
