The Beauty Want List!

I have a long beauty want list at the minute. I keep seeing products that I want to try.

I have wanted to get an original beauty blender for a while. Cheaper imitations tend to get poor reviews so I think it's probably worth going for the real deal.

I tried Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune recently and I absolutely loved it. It is a citrusy scent and I'm not usually a huge fan of citrus fragrances, but this is so crisp and well defined. It's definitely a fragrance I am looking to add to my collection.

I have been thinking about buying the Hourglass Ambient Light Powder in Diffused Light for a long time. I read a review a while ago that put me off, but I have since read many more positive reviews so it is back on my want list.

I want to try this Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Water as I am running low on my cleansing water and I need something oil-based as I wear waterproof mascara and it makes it a lot easier to remove. This product is supposed to be non-greasy as well, which is always good.

I have to get some more Avon Gel Shine nail polishes. I used the lilac shade I have recently and it reminded me how good these polishes are. They don't chip as easily as regular nail polish. There are at least 4 colours on my want list and checking the avonshop.co.uk website they are currently on offer for £3.50 each which is great!

I could do with a few new make-up brushes, but next on my list is the MAC 168 large, angled contour brush.

February Favourites 2016!

There are a lot of products that I have been loving this month.

No.7's Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up Remover is excellent for removing waterproof mascara. I wear waterproof mascara every day so I am pleased to have a product that removes it so easily.

I got Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire last month and I have been loving it. It has a lovely, deep tea note in it. It's become one of my favourite scents.

My MAC 217 brush is probably my favourite brush for applying and blending eyeshadow. Whenever I introduce a new brush to my collection I always end up going back to this one.

I have used up most of my EOS lip balm now and I absolutely love it. I will definitely have to buy another EOS lip balm. It is my favourite lip balm that I have ever used.

I love my MAC blush. I bought it in shade Melba, which is my current favourite cheek colour. It looks great on.

Soap and Glory Scrub Your Nose In It is a great facial scrub and mine has been getting a lot of us this month.

I have a purse spray of Avon's Strictly Ballroom Beauty eau de toilette, which has a lovely, light floral scent. I have had this in my handbag this month and I love the scent. It is so uplifting and the purse spray is so handy to carry around with you.
I also have the full size bottle of this fragrance.

Finally I have been using Dove's plum and sakura blossom body wash. I have used this one several times before and I love the scent of it. It is really creamy and moisturising as well.

January Perfume Haul

I have bought plenty of perfume this year already.

I mentioned in a post in December that I had wanted to buy a 125ml bottle of Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh, which I am now the proud owner of.

I also bought Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire eau de parfum gift set with the 30ml bottle of fragrance and a 75ml body milk. It is also a scent I have thought about purchasing for a while and I love it. With notes of rose, liquorice and smoked black tea it is delicious as it sounds!

L'Aimant is a fragrance I have seen in the shops since I was a child, but have never seen a tester to try it out so I bought it in a gift set in the Boots sale. It is an inexpensive fragrance anyway. It is a nice, aldehydic scent that has been compared to Chanel No. 5.

Autumn Perfumes!

Since the bank holiday on 31st August it has felt like autumn. We have had rain, central heating and most exciting of all candles!

Although it's not officially autumn until 23rd September 2015 I have decided to start autumn early and I have picked out a few (15 to be precise) of my favourite fragrances for the cooler months.

Diesel's Loverdose is a lovely deep, liquorice based scent. I suppose it is a little bit harsh so it won't be for everyone, but I love it.

Dior Addict is a dark, spicy fragrance with florals and a creaminess that balances the fragrance out perfectly.

Lolita Lempicka's Elle L'aime (not to be confused with L L'aime which was released in a similar bottle!) is a very unique scent. It is not as heavy as my other autumn fragrance picks. It opens quite citrusy and then the base is thick and creamy. It always reminds me of caramel although that is not one of the fragrance notes.

Vivienne Westwoof Let It Rock is another dark, spicy, cosy scent, but it is a little bit harsh so it is not one that everyone is going to like.

Roberto Cavalli Serpentine is a fragrance I got for Christmas a few years ago. It reminds me of autumn/winter. It is described as a floral-oriental. I love this one.

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid was my Christmas present from my partner last year. I think it is really well composed. It is quite masculine and spicy, but it is not too harsh and not as overpowering as some of Tom Ford's other fragrances.

Ghost Deep Night is a lovely, creamy, musky scent. I was obsessed with this fragrance about a year ago. It is lovely.

Roberto Cavalli by Roberto Cavalli was released in 2012, much later than Serpentine, which came out in 2005! This is a deep amber scent with some softer floral notes. It is mature and sensual; one of my favourites for autumn.

Guerlain Mitsouko is a classic. It opens very citrusy and develops into a deep woody scent with a hint of spice; very warming.

Illamasqua Freak is an absolutely amazing scent. It is so unique. It is a unisex fragrance and I often find unisex fragrances a bit too masculine, but this is perfect. It has a masculine edge, but it is a thrilling composition of the most exotic and poisonous flowers. I urge you to give this a go.

Yves Saint Laurent Opium is  a smoky, spicy fragrance. Its notes include incense, cedar and amber.

Jimmy Choo Stars was another gift from my significant other. He bought it for me in September last year so it was a favourite of mine during the months that followed. It is similar to the original Jimmy Choo fragrance with a stronger toffee note. It is sweet, but also quite heavy. It has been re-released this year in a bottle with different colouring.

Chanel Coco is another fantastic composition. It is warming and spicy with notes of cloves, amber and sandalwood.

Lolita Lempicka Minuit Sonne was released last year. Every year Lolita Lempicka comes out with a different bottle and a slightly different name for this 'midnight' fragrance and I have a few of them becasue this is one of my favourite scents! It is like the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance, but more intense. It has notes of liquorice flower and iris. It is sweet and powdery. The fragrance is always released in autumn, but I wear this one all year round.

Diesel Fuel For Life Unlimited was one of the few times my partner picked out my Christmas present and surprised me. I didn't like it at first. I remember wearing it on one occasion and I kept noticing it on myself and thinking, 'urgh'! It wasn't until a few years later when I really started getting into fragrance that my tastes changed and I would say developed and now I love it and find it completely inoffensive. It has citrusy notes in it along with liquorice, star anise and white flowers.

I'd recommend trying before you buy as most of these scents you will either love or hate. My favourites are Lolita Lempicka Minuit Sonne and Illamasqua Freak. Some of the heavier, spicy scents can be a bit too much sometimes and I have to be in the mood to wear them, but you can wear any fragrance any time of year. I often wear lighter, fruity-floral scents in the autumn and winter as well as these fragrances and I will occasionally choose a heavier scent in the summer, but I love autumn and these fragrances get me excited for it!

My Black Friday to Cyber Monday fragrance and beauty haul!

I had a great weekend for shopping.
I have just about finished my Christmas shopping so I have spoilt myself this weekend.

On 'Black Friday' I managed to get a 100ml bottle of Dior J'Adore eau de parfum for £76.40 from boots.com. I had eyed it up for a while. It was still full price in store at £95.50 and the day before it was on offer for about £85.00 online, but then they further reduced it online on Black Friday meaning I saved £19.10, which I think is amazing.

At first I was gutted when the website said they had sold out, but I managed to get one with the gift wrap box, which is sold at the same price.

I also fell for Debenhams' charm and bought a 75ml bottle of Guerlain Mitsouko for £64.58 and I had a £5 voucher so I only paid £59.58. The 75ml bottle usually costs £77.50.

I received an email on Sunday from Selfridges to say they had 10% off fragrances so I ended up ordering Creed Love In Black.
75ml usually costs £165.00, but I got it for £148.50, which I was happy with.
I absolutely love Love In Black and have been waiting for John Lewis or Selfridges to have fragrance on 10% off as £16.50 is quite a big saving and also buying it when it is at a reduced price helps me justify the purchase.

My most exciting purchase came today, 'Cyber Monday' when I was browsing the Debenhams website.
Last month I bought an Elizabeth Arden lipstick, which I love and was keen to get some more. I found this 'Elizabeth Arden Lipstick Color Christmas Gift Set' for just £31.20.
It has 4 full size 3.5g lipsticks all in very wearable colours. One of these lipsticks usually costs £20.00 and here is a gift set with 4 in for £31.20! It gets better...
When I get to the checkout I know I have £5.00 of Beauty Club card points to spend, but it turns out I now have £15.00 of points to spend so I only had to pay £16.20 for these 4 amazing lipsticks!
I am so excited to receive them!

UPDATE 07/12/2014: It turns out Debenhams could not fulfil this order so they have refunded me and I have managed to find and reorder this gift set from House Of Fraser's website where it was also on offer for £35.10. I still think it is well and truly worth it and will have to find something else to spend my Debenhams points on.

I feel like I have done really well this weekend, but I do feel a bit guilty for spending so much money.

Hopefully there'll be no more splurging until the sales after Christmas!
