Top 10 Fragrances - My All Time Favourites!

21st March is National Fragrance Day so I thought I'd post 10 of my favourite fragrances!

I love Jimmy Choo's Flash. It is such a unique fragrance. It doesn't have the best staying power but it is still one of my favourites.

Jimmy Choo Viva La Juicy La Fleur is another favourite of mine. It is sweet and fruity. I love the chunky bottle as well.

Nina Ricci's Ricci Ricci is a lovely, deep fragrance. One of the key notes is rhubarb which you don't find in many fragrances. The bottle is also beautiful. It has a lovely shape and has a plastic ribbon wrapped around the neck.

Lolita Lempicka Eau de Minuit is an amazing fragrance. It is released every year with a different bottle design. It is a more intense version of the original Lolita Lempicka eau de parfum. It is sweet and powdery. The notes include liquorice flower and iris.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is a gorgeous fragrance. It has a citrusy element but it is not a run of the mill citrusy fragrance. It is composed exceptionally well. I love it and it has great staying power too.

I love Cacharel Noa. I have bought this fragrance over and over again. It is a lovely soft, feminine fragrance made interesting by the incense note. There is also supposed to be a coffee note in this fragrance but I can't really tell.

Marc Jacob Lola is a lovely, floral fragrance. It is quite rosy, but it really stands out from the crowd. It seems to have a lot of depth to it.

Taylor of London's fragrance Panache is one of my favourites. It has floral and aldehydic notes. It is the most inexpensive fragrance of this bunch at £14.99 for 100ml. It is a great fragrance though.

Chloe eau de parfum is one I notice other people wearing all of the time. It is quite a soapy scent and has excellent staying power and good projection.

Vera Wang's Lovestruck is a deep, floral fragrance with musk in the base.

Viva La Juicy Sucre!

Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy Sucre has recently hit stores in the UK.

The bottle design is as over the top as ever. I like the pink spotty bow on this one.
It has top notes of gardenia, mandarin orange and red currant, middle notes of orange blossom, jasmine, peach and almond cream and the base notes are whipped cream, vanilla, sandalwood and cacao. The notes are completely different to the original Viva La Juicy, but I have heard it does smell similar to the original.
I am intrigued to try this fragrance but I am not planning on adding it to my collection. I think it might be too sweet for me.

The Viva La Juicy line has become huge.

There is Viva La Juicy Sucre, the original Viva La Juicy, Viva La Juicy Noir, Viva La Juicy Rose, Viva La Juicy Gold Couture and Viva La Juicy La Fleur.

I am a fan of this line but don't have the Sucre or Gold Couture versions.

The original is by far the most popular. It was first launched in 2008.

There are more Viva La Juicy versions in the range.

Viva La Juicy So Intense, second left, was launched in 2014.

Viva La Juicy Extrait de Parfum was launched in 2016. I like the detail on the bottle for this one.

Viva La Juicy Luxe Parfum was launched in 2013. I'm not keen on the white bottle design.

There is also a 2012 release called Viva La Juicy Nice Stuff For Nice Girl, which comes with a different bottle design, but still has the big, pink bow on it.

It is clear that Juicy Couture is not afraid to cash in on the Viva La Juicy range. I don't think I'll be adding any more Viva La Juicy fragrances to my collection, but if the right one came along I wouldn't rule it out.

Viva La Juicy La Fleur is one of my favourite fragrances and I love the Rose version as well. Of course the original is great too.

I look forward to trying Viva La Juicy Sucre but I'll be surprised if I like it enough to buy it. I expect that it may be too sweet, but I have heard good things about it so you never know!

Perfume Haul!

I have bought loads of fragrance in the past few weeks.

Here are the 4 latest additions to my collection.

Chloe's Roses de Chloe is lovely. I'm a huge fan of rose in fragrances and this one is done really well. It is an eau de toilette so it is lighter and more short-lived than the original Chloe eau de parfum.

Vera Wang Bouquet is a fragrance that was introduced in 2008. I have been keen to get my hands on it for a long time. It is sweet and floral, but it has a crisp cleanness to it.

Juicy Couture's Couture La La Malibu was a 2013 release along with Juicy Couture Malibu. I liked this one more than Juicy Couture Malibu, but ended up buying Juicy Couture Malibu first and never getting round to buying this one.. until now. The fragrance is a light and fresh summer scent; fruity, but not overly sweet. I love the chunky glass bottle as well. Juicy Couture have great perfume bottles.

Last but not least is Jimmy Choo Illicit Flower. As soon as I tried the tester of this fragrance I knew I had to have it. It is light and fresh with sweet notes of mandarin combined with floral notes of jasmine and rose.

Everything's Rosy!

I have just ordered Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Rose.

I love rose scents. I don't like that the bottle is glittery and I didn't know if I was going to like the scent as lots of fragrance claim to be rosy but aren't as I had imagined. I don't really think of Flowerbomb La Vie en Rose as a rose scented fragrance, but I do love it. As the bottle is glittery, part of me didn't want to like this scent and have to add it to my collection, but it has a lovely rosy scent so I just had to add it to my collection.

I have a few rose scented fragrances in my collection already.

Nina Ricci Mademoiselle Ricci has a soft rose scent that is feminine and subtle. The bottle is beautiful as well with the rounded glass with a ribbon design wrapped around it.

John Galliano eau de toilette is a more vibrant take on rose with good projection and a very uniquely designed bottle.

Marc Jacobs Lola has a combination of floral notes. It isn't strictly a rose scented fragrance, but you can definitely smell the rose in it. I absolutely love Lola!

Ghost eau de toilette is a gorgeous scent. I wore it yesterday. It is surprisingly long lasting for an eau de toilette and the scent of rose dominates this fragrance.

Another rose scented fragrance I'd like to add to my collection is Chloe's Roses de Chloe. I've had it on my list for a while because who doesn't need another lovely, rosy scent?

National Fragrance Day!

Today is National Fragrance Day according to The Fragrance Foundation!

I am going to list 10 fragrances that I think make great gifts.

1) Jimmy Choo Flash - This is probably my favourite fragrance. I have bought it for so many of my friends and family. It is very distinctive.

2) Lolita Lempicka Eau de Minuit - I bought this for my mother a few years ago. I love the liquorice flower in this. It is similar to the original Lolita Lempicka eau de parfum only more intense and it is released every year in a different bottle.

3) Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy La Fleur - This is a lovely, sweet scent and the bottle is young and fun.

4) Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is one of my favourite fragrances. I think Chanel's Chance range is very different to their other fragrances. This one is gorgeous and it lasts well on my skin.

5) Nina Ricci Ricci Ricci - I received this fragrance as a gift and have since bought it as a gift for other people as well. It is my favourite Nina Ricci fragrance.

6) Marc Jacobs Daisy - Most fragrances in this line by Marc Jacobs would make great gifts. Daisy has a lovely, fresh floral scent with a distinctive 'Marc Jacobs scent' which runs right through the Marc Jacobs fragrance range.

7) Vera Wang Preppy Princess - I love all of the Princess fragrances. I recently found Preppy Princess is available on allbeauty.com and I have my eye on it as a gift for my sister. I wasn't a huge fan of the bottle design when I first got it, but the fragrance is lovely.

8) Vivienne Westwood Boudoir - This fragrance is floral and to be honest I'm not sure if it will be to everyone's taste so perhaps it wouldn't make the best gift, but I love it and it lasts so long on my skin.

9) Chloe Chloe - I was given Chloe by Chloe as a gift and it is one that I have bought for other people as well. It is another fragrance with great lasting power.

10) Ghost Anticipation - This was the first Ghost fragrance that I bought for myself and I have since bought it for both of my sisters. It has a light floral scent. It is very similar to Victoria Beckham's Instinct.

New 2016 Perfumes!

There are lots of new fragrances coming out this year.

There are three new Marc Jacobs releases; Daisy Blush, Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush and Daisy Dream Blush.

They all sound like nice springtime scents and I look forward to trying them.

Their colour scheme fits well with Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy Rose which is another 2016 release. I love rose scents so I think this one will be interesting. I think the bottle is awful though. I'm not keen on glitter on bottles and this one seems to be opaque which I think takes away from the lovely squared-off shape of the bottle.

Nina Ricci is releasing Nina Pop which is the same scent as the original Nina in a colourful bottle. This is to celebrate 10 years since Nina's release.

..But the winner of the most hideous bottle design goes to Moschino's Fresh Couture, which comes in a bottle made to look like a bathroom cleaning spray. I think the bottle is quite shocking. Who came up with this terrible idea?!

My 2014 perfumes!

I have built up quite a collection of new fragrances in 2014.

I have bought 19 new releases from this year.

Marc Jacobs released more limited edition Daisy fragrances, Daisy Delight and Daisy Eau So Fresh Delight, both of which I love.

Daisy Dream came afterwards with a unique bottle design.

Jimmy Choo have had some fantastic releases in 2014. Exotic was re-released in an orange bottle for 2014.

Flash London Club was a fragrance I was really excited about. It has a similar scent to the original Flash, which is my favourite.

Stars is a limited edition release from Jimmy Choo. It was probably the last thing my fiancé ever bought me before becoming my husband and it was a great gift. It has a scent along the same lines as the original Jimmy Choo fragrance and the longevity is just as impressive.

Cacharel Noa L'Eau was a limited edition release for the summer. The original Noa fragrance is one of my favourites and this version is a light, fresh and slightly aquatic interpretation.

DKNY's MYNY was released in the summer and it is something really different from DKNY. I have lots of fragrances from the Be Delicious range, but this is a lovely, sophisticated, floral scent. I haven't heard much hype about it, but it really is a lovely scent.

DKNY did release a few new fragrances from the Be Delicious range, which I bought into.
There was Golden Delicious Sparkling Apple, Be Delicious Sparkling Apple and Be Delicious Fresh Blossom Sparkling Apple. In the UK these fragrances are only available from The Fragrance Shop.
They are all lovely and fresh, but they do smell similar to previous releases from the Be Delicious range.

Vera Wang Forever Vera is very difficult to get hold of. It was supposed to be exclusive to Kohl's in the USA. It is a really nice, well balanced fragrance. It is quite a mature scent.

Vera Wang's Princess Power is the latest release from the Princess collection. Like last year's release, Pink Princess, Princess Power is only available in 30ml or 50ml bottles, which annoyed me. It is a lovely, crowd pleasing, fruity-floral fragrance.

Vera Wang Be Jeweled Rouge is another 2014 release. It is really sweet and fruity. I love it.

Lolita Lempicka Minuit Sonne is an amazing fragrance. The deep liquorice flower note seems more prominent than in the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance. I love the fragrance, but the bottle has glitter on it, which comes off onto your hands, which is a bit annoying.

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid is a strong, warming fragrance. I love this fragrance. It is unique, mature and lasts well.

Nina Ricci's La Tentation de Nina is another beautiful scent. It is bakery-sweet and really different to other Nina releases. I think this was a great offering and I look forward to trying next year's Nina Ricci fragrance, Les Délices de Nina.

Juicy Couture's Juicy Couture Malibu was released for the summer alongside Couture La La Malibu, which I have not picked up yet. Juicy Couture Malibu is a lovely summer scent. It is similar to the original, Juicy Couture fragrance, but is a bit less harsh. It has a very light, fresh feel to it. I really like this fragrance, but I have to admit it isn't the longest lasting fragrance.

Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere isn't technically a new fragrance for 2014. It was originally released in 2007, but in 2014 it was released in the classic, rectangular Chanel bottle. It is a lovely scent. It is similar to the original No 5, but this one seems lighter and has a more sparkling opening.

2014 has seen the release of many other lovely fragrances that I have not managed to add to my collection yet and I hope 2015 will bring lots of new and exciting fragrances that will no doubt mean my collection will grow and my shelf space will shrink!

Jimmy, Juicy and my MUA delivery!

Today I have been weak.
I was on allbeauty.com and when I saw that they had this year's Jimmy Choo Exotic in a hard to find 100ml bottle I had to have it. At the unbelievable price of £34.95 there is nothing I could have done to stop myself.

I thought I would be able to afford a little mistake like this, but then disaster struck. An email from Debenhams came through saying I could have 10% off with a voucher code if I paid with my Debenhams credit card and I made the mistake of having a look at their fragrances and noticing that Juicy Couture's summer releases, Juicy Couture Malibu and Couture La La Malibu were on offer.
The 150ml bottle, which usually costs £63.00 was only £42.00 plus with 10% off that would be £37.80 so I was going to buy both, but then it emerged that the 10% voucher code could not be used on beauty or fragrance so I just bought Juicy Couture Malibu - the orange one for £42.00. I also should be getting a free beach towel with it.

I noticed when I added both fragrances to my basket only one free towel was added, whereas I once ordered three DKNY fragrances from thefragranceshop.co.uk and three free bags were added to my basket and received so Debenhams lose points from me twice today.
I tend to put free gifts like these on ebay and I usually get quite a good price for them. I once got around £20.00 for a free Marc Jacobs umbrella, which makes my fragrance purchases feel a lot cheaper.

I received my make-up order from MUA that I mentioned in a recent post..
The eye palette looks amazing, but it's not for me - I'll have to get one for myself next time.
The matte lipstick (in white packaging) is great. It looks and feels natural and is better lasting than their normal lipsticks (in black).

The face primer is a bit weird. I'm not a fan to be honest. It feels a little bit greasy at first, but rubs into my skin easily and your skin still looks bare. I just don't like the texture.

The eyelid primer was what I was most looking forward to as a replacement for my Benefit Lemon Aid and it works well, but it seems to be a more intense yellow colour than Lemon Aid and I much prefer Lemon Aid.
I sometimes used to wear Lemon Aid on its own on my eyelids with no eye shadow, but I feel like this one is a bit too yellow to wear on its own. I suppose it isn't bad for the price and it does the job, but I do still want another Lemon Aid.

Here are my swatches - the top one is the primer then left to right the pro-base prime and conceal, number 16 lipstick and Fawn Fancy matte lipstick.

Double Juice!

Juicy Couture have two new fragrances out for summer.

There's Juicy Couture Malibu in the orange bottle.
This has notes of passionfruit, which I love, jasmine and musk.

And there's Couture La La in the pink bottle.

This one has notes of mandarin, sugar and musk.

I like them both. They are really fresh and summery. I don't think they smell like the original Juicy Couture or Couture La La at all so I don't think they should have linked them to the originals.

I often see perfume collection videos where people show a perfume and call it by an incorrect name or they are unsure of the name of the perfume they own, which I always think is crazy, but these two fragrances have very forgettable names being linked to fragrances they don't resemble whatsoever.

I think these two will inevitably work their way into my fragrance collection. I can't resist a fruity, summery offering especially by Juicy Couture! I think my favourite is Couture La La Malibu, the pink one!

My January Sales Picks!

I'm very tempted by a few items in the sales at the minute.

I wasn't too impressed when I looked online last week, but I have found some pretty good deals on fragrance gift sets on the Boots website and I have also found some sales bargains on the Oasis website.

If you spend over £100.00 on www.boots.com you can get £10.00 off with voucher code VC23DEC. The code is valid until 11th January so it would be handy if there's a perfume that you want for yourself or as a gift in the next few months.

There are some good sets for under £20.00 if you are on a budget.

I have the original Ghost, which I love and these gift sets are a great price. I really want Ghost Deep Night and Ghost Moonlight. There are a number of fragrances in the Ghost range, but these two are top of my list.

Davidoff Cool Water Woman is a lovely refreshing scent that I have been meaning to add to my collection for a while.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir is another lovely fragrance that I still haven't purchased, but I have wanted it since before it came out. I was all set to buy it one day in the summer when Boots had their points event on where you got loads of points for purchases over £30.00, but Boots don't stock the 100ml bottle and that is what I wanted so I was disappointed that day, but I will definitely own this fragrance one day.

I mentioned in a recent post that I only have two celebrity fragrances, but that has since gone up to three after I found a 100ml Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy gift set for £12.99 on the last day of 2013.
I'm not a huge fan of celebrity fragrances, but I have added a lot to my want list since watching so many perfume collection videos on youtube!

Kate Moss's Kate has had some great reviews and it is one I'd like to try.

If your budget can stretch a bit further there are some great deals for between £20.00 and £30.00.

I couldn't find Vera Wang's Be Jeweled anywhere when it first came out. It is a lovely scent and has a really pretty bottle.

Yellow Diamonds is one I have had my eye on for a while. I have Bright Crystal, which is the pink coloured version that comes with the same bottle design.
The testers for this fragrance are always 50ml or 90ml. In Europe last year I saw a 30ml bottle of Versace Yellow Diamonds out of the box and it is a really small bottle - a lot smaller than it looks in the picture so don't get caught out.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy is a must have fragrance. I love this scent and £23.00 isn't bad for the 30ml gift set.

Nina Ricci Nina is a lovely scent and would make a great gift.

I think Boots are offering Marc Jacobs Honey gift set for a great price. It works out cheaper to buy 2 of these gift sets than it does to buy the 100ml bottle from Boots, which is quite crazy!

Vera Wang Princess is what my blog is partly named after. It is another one with a pretty bottle and I love the box design too.

If you have even more Christmas money left over then the following gift sets are between £30.00 and £40.00.

Marc Jacobs Daisy gift set would make a great gift. I love this fragrance. I got mine in a gift set about a year ago, but I must confess I bought it for myself.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh is a fragrance I have wanted for ages. It is also available in a huge 125ml bottle.

Marc Jacobs Dot is another great deal here. It is a lovely, fruity scent. It reminds me of watermelon. I love the bottle for this as well.

Paco Rabanne Lady Million is one of the most popular fragrances that I still don't own, but it is one I expect to be purchasing in the next few months.

Chloe Eau de Parfum is a lovely, elegant scent. My other half bought me a gift set of this scent a few years ago and he paid nearly double the price that Boots are charging.

Elie Saab is one that I have wanted for ages as well and this is one of the best prices I have seen for it.

I wish fragrance gift sets were so readily available all year round.

On the Oasis website there are loads of lovely clothes and accesories in the sale. Here are a few of my picks.

About two years ago I became obsessed with white or cream tops and I bought loads. I still have a soft spot for neutral coloured tops as they are so easy to wear. They go with anything else that you want to wear and they can be dressed up or down.
I love the 'natural' coloured one, top left and the light pink cap sleeve top is really pretty.
I also love prints so and the white printed top is lovely.
I first spotted the daisy print dress about 3 months ago. I love the style of it, but I keep changing my mind about whether I like the print.
I love the denim skater skirt as well. It is a great price.
The jacquard trousers are another bargain. I have become quite obsessed with buying trousers recently. I love the colour of these ones.

There are plenty of other bargains to be had on www.oasis-stores.com.

My Juicy Collection (so far)!

I still haven't purchased Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy Noir fragrance, which I was so desperate to try when it first came out earlier this year, but I have plenty of other fragrances from Juicy Couture to keep me going for now.

I love them. I bought them all online (on different occasions) at www.cheapsmells.com, which has now changed its name to www.allbeauty.com.

The site is genuine and often has significant discounts on fragrances and cosmetics.
These are the years which each fragrance was first released.

My fragrances are all 100ml bottles except for Viva La Juicy La Fleur, which was released in a whopping 150ml bottle so I bought that and the original 2006 fragrance, Juicy Couture, which I bought in a 50ml bottle.

I regretted buying the 50ml as it doesn't look as good as the larger chunkier bottles. The lid is the same height as the bottle, whereas the 100ml bottles are taller and also quite a bit wider.
I love the scent though. It has a sharp scent of hyacinth and is a more mature scent than the other Juicy Couture fragrances, which tend to be a bit more young and girly.

The recommended retail price for the 100ml bottles is around £63.00 each, but I have managed to get them online for around £37.00 each, which I think is great value.

I love Viva La Juicy. It is a fruity-floral fragrance and it smells amazing. Covered in bling, with its big, pink, satin bow, the bottle for Viva La Juicy is a beautiful ornament.

Couture Couture has a very different bottle design to the others from Juicy Couture. I love the detailed metal on the lid.
The fragrance has a lovely fruity-floral scent.

Peace, Love and Juicy Couture came next in 2010. It is another fragrance with the same bottle design as Juicy Couture and Viva La Juicy.
If you are not familiar with Juicy Couture's fragrances it is easy to get them mixed up.

My favourite Juicy Couture fragrance is Viva La Juicy La Fleur. The scent is gorgeous. It is the only fragrance that is available in a 150ml bottle, which is lovely and chunky! I even love the box - I love everything about this fragrance.
It does have a similar scent to Viva La Juicy. It is fruity and floral.

Couture La La was released at the end of 2012. Another fruity-floral, but a bit more of a mature scent with lily of the valley giving it a harsher edge.

I do hope to be purchasing Viva La Juicy Noir in the coming months. I have tried testers of it and it is gorgeous.
