April Favourites 2017

These are the products I have been loving in April!

Radox's mandarin and lemongrass shower gel smells absolutely amazing. I love mandarin scented products and the lemongrass gives it an extra kick. I will definitely be buying this one again!

I have been using this pink jasmine lip balm from Avon this month and I love it. It is a great size for your pocket or handbag and the consistency is exactly as I like it. It is smooth and balmy with no nasty aftertaste and it prevents my lips from drying out.

I have been wearing my cushion cut peridot necklace a lot this month. I love the bright green colour!

This NYC City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Color is great. I have it in the colour Riverside Rose which looks quite natural on my lips. I think I'm going to have to make this one permanent in my make-up bag.

I have been wearing Jimmy Choo Illicit Flower a lot this month. It is a great, elegant floral fragrance. It is definitely worth a try if you haven't already checked it out.

My MUA lipstick in shade 2 has been another lip product I have been loving this month and it has already been upgraded to my make-up bag. It is a bit darker and more bold than the NYC lip colour but I think it looks lovely on.

I have been wearing my Avon Nailwear Pro+ nail polish in shade Barely There this month and I love it. It lasts impressively well. I also have this colour as a gel finish polish, but this one seems to be just as good!

I love Clarins Double Serum. I have raved about it in the past. It improves the appearance of my skin immediately. My skin looks hydrated and radiant after using it.

Ghost Moonlight is another fragrance I have worn a lot this month. It is a sweet and creamy but it has a darkness to it as well.

Travel Essentials

April always seems to be the time people start jetting off for their first holiday of the year.

I am going on my travels tomorrow and thought I would share some of the things I am taking with me. I am trying to travel light, but there are a lot of essentials I wouldn't be without.

I don't want to be carrying round a bulky bottle of perfume so I am taking this River Island London eau de toilette rollerball as my fragrance.

I am taking my Tangle Teezer as it is a compact hair brush and it has a lid so that dirt doesn't get caught in it.

I have a monopod selfie stick which is great for taking selfies or it can be used as a monopod which can help to make video footage smoother.

I am taking a lipstick case with a mirror in it and I usually put a few loose cotton buds inside as I don't want to take the whole box of cotton buds but I don't want to carry them loose in my make-up bag as they can pick up dust or dirt.

I always seem to get dry lips when I travel so I have this Avon pink jasmine lip balm to take with me.

I opt for a rollerball deodorant as most spray deodorants are more than 50ml which I believe is the largest amount of liquid you can take on a plane in your hand luggage.

I also have my Clinique wrinkle correcting eye cream which I am taking with me as I like to look after my skin while I am travelling.

I will also be getting some sun screen when I get there. I haven't got any that is under 50ml and I am not taking a case.

March Favourites 2017

Here are the products I've been enjoying this month!

First of all Vera Wang Princess has been my most worn fragrance this month. It's so unique. One of the fragrance notes is white chocolate. I love this perfume.

I have been using Soap And Glory Scrub Your Nose In It this month. It is a great scrub for your face and can also be used as a mask. It is the perfect level of harshness and leaves my skin feeling exfoliated and smooth.

I have been using this Burt's Bees hibiscus tinted lip balm and I really like it. The tint is barely noticeable but it is a nice consistency and hydrates my lips when they're feeling dry.

I love this body spray. It is Avon's Outspoken Party by Fergie (from Black Eyed Peas). It is sweet and fruity and it has raspberry in it.

Chanel Chance Eau Vive is a fragrance I bought a few years ago and I haven't used very often. This month I have been loving it. I randomly decided to put it on one day and I realised how much I love it. It had been in my mind as the third best Chance fragrance after the original Chance and Chance Eau Fraiche. It may be third favourite but that doesn't mean it's not great!

I got a gift set for Christmas with Lynx Attract for her shower gel and body spray in and have been using the shower gel this month. The scent is still quite masculine and aquatic. I love this shower gel.

I have been using the Rimmel Scandal Eyes waterproof mascara for a while now. It isn't as waterproof as it could be, but it is great. I love the brush; t makes it so easy to apply.

I love this Barielle Advanced UV Glaze Top Coat. I also use it as a base coat. It dries really quickly and gives extra shine to my nails.

I bought three bottles of Radox shower gel; lime and peppermint, mandarin and lemongrass and lavender and waterlily. Of the three the lavender and waterlily sounded the least appealing to me but I absolutely love it. I think of lavender as quite an overpowering floral scent but I can't even identify it in this shower gel. It just has a lovely floral scent; not harsh at all.

10 Of My Favourite Irregular Choice Shoes From My Collection!

I have so many pairs of Irregular Choice shoes that I love but these are some of my favourites from my collection!

The green Oz Bow Courts are gorgeous and they really stand out. The textures are quite interesting; they have a satin bow on the front and bits of tinsel on them.

I love these Smooch shoes with an ice cream sundae on the t-bar on the front. I love the brown and bronze together. They also have the perspex heel which is really comfortable.

I love these black shoes with a pink and green floral design. They are really cute.

I love the design of the purple Floral Cortesan Bar heels. They have detailed patterns on them and purple flowers across the toe.

The feathery Mayhem design is gorgeous. These shoes are real head-turners. They are stunning.

My blue and red Trinkletina shoes are an absolute favourite. I have two matching bags and I have this design in many other colours as well. The perspex heel looks great in blue.

Can't Touch This is another design that I have over and over again in a lot of different colours. These blue and gold ones have beautiful detailing. I also love the t-bar and the flowers on the front and the perspex heel.

Dressed To Kill is the name of these red and green cherry shoes. I think they're a really fun design.

These red sequin heels are pretty much the same design as Trinkletina, but they are called No Place Like Home! I absolutely adore them!

These gold boots are gorgeous as well and they are so comfortable. They design is called Otters.

Top 10 Fragrances - My All Time Favourites!

21st March is National Fragrance Day so I thought I'd post 10 of my favourite fragrances!

I love Jimmy Choo's Flash. It is such a unique fragrance. It doesn't have the best staying power but it is still one of my favourites.

Jimmy Choo Viva La Juicy La Fleur is another favourite of mine. It is sweet and fruity. I love the chunky bottle as well.

Nina Ricci's Ricci Ricci is a lovely, deep fragrance. One of the key notes is rhubarb which you don't find in many fragrances. The bottle is also beautiful. It has a lovely shape and has a plastic ribbon wrapped around the neck.

Lolita Lempicka Eau de Minuit is an amazing fragrance. It is released every year with a different bottle design. It is a more intense version of the original Lolita Lempicka eau de parfum. It is sweet and powdery. The notes include liquorice flower and iris.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is a gorgeous fragrance. It has a citrusy element but it is not a run of the mill citrusy fragrance. It is composed exceptionally well. I love it and it has great staying power too.

I love Cacharel Noa. I have bought this fragrance over and over again. It is a lovely soft, feminine fragrance made interesting by the incense note. There is also supposed to be a coffee note in this fragrance but I can't really tell.

Marc Jacob Lola is a lovely, floral fragrance. It is quite rosy, but it really stands out from the crowd. It seems to have a lot of depth to it.

Taylor of London's fragrance Panache is one of my favourites. It has floral and aldehydic notes. It is the most inexpensive fragrance of this bunch at £14.99 for 100ml. It is a great fragrance though.

Chloe eau de parfum is one I notice other people wearing all of the time. It is quite a soapy scent and has excellent staying power and good projection.

Vera Wang's Lovestruck is a deep, floral fragrance with musk in the base.

10 Of My All Time Favourite Make-Up Products!

These are the make-up products that I have gone back to over and over again, all of which can be found in my make-up bag.

I have bought Benefit's Lemon Aid numerous times now. I have been using it for at least 7 years. I use it as a eyeshadow primer. It is a light yellow colour so it is also great for covering redness, but I find it a bit too thick to use as a concealer. My eyeshadow looks a lot better with this as a base. I have tried other eyeshadow primers but this is my favourite.

I love matte eyeshadows and this Urban Decay Naked Basics palette is amazing. I use it almost every day. You can even use the matte black shadow as an eyeliner.

MAC's 217 blending brush is my favourite brush ever! I love it. The shape and density is perfect for blending out eyeshadow.

MUA's Undressed palette is my favourite shimmery eyeshadow palette. The shades in it are gorgeous and the eyeshadows are good quality and very pigmented.

I have been using MAC's blush in the shade, Melba for about 18 months and I love it. My previous favourite was by No.7.

Collection's Lasting Perfection concealer gives great coverage. It is quite thick so I sometimes mix it with a little bit of moisturising cream to thin it out a bit.

Barry M's Brow Kit is great! I use it all of the time and I even use the little brush that comes with it and find it to be quite good. I don't really use the tweezers as they are quite difficult to nip together. I love this kit though!

Nars Laguna bronzer is the best bronzer I have used. It is light enough to use on my fair skin without looking harsh or muddy. I don't use it every day, but I really like it.

Dr Jart's Regenerating BB Cream has been a favourite for years. It's amazing how a product with such a light coverage can really improve the look of your skin. I wear this daily and I love it!

MAC's lipstick in Ruby Woo is my most used red lipstick. It is matte and I find it really easy to apply. It is not my most used lipstick overall; just my most popular red lipstick.
I have found it difficult to choose favourites for some items such as eyeliner, foundation, lipstick or mascara because I tend to regularly change the brands I buy and I'm not in love with one particular product.

February Favourites 2017

These are a few of the products I've been loving in February!

I got the Baylis and Harding Sea Salt and Wild Mint hand wash and hand lotion as a birthday gift last month. I have been using the hand wash this month and I love it. It has an aquatic scent. I suspected the mint might overpower it, but to be honest the mint is barely noticable in it. I love how thick Baylis and Harding's hand washes are.

I have been using Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly shampoo this month. It is violet scented and I love it.

I have been working out a lot this month so I have been washing my hair more often and I have found this Wella clear scalp hair mask is amazing for keeping my hair hydrated. It has quite a thick consistency. I haven't been using it every time I wash my hair, but it is a nice treat a couple of times each week.

I have been using my new Compact Tangle Teezer a lot this month and like the original it is great!

I absolutely love Clarins Double Serum. It has been my go to skincare product this month.

My gorgeous green sapphire ring has been my most worn item of jewellery in February. Cluster rings are probably my favourite style.

I have worn various different fragrances throughout February, but Chanel Coco Noir has stood out as one of my favourites to wear. It is quite heavy.

Finally Dove's body wash scented with pomegranate and lemon verbena has been a favourite this month. I have used this one a few times. It is really creamy and hydrating and has a lovely, sweet scent.

Miss Dior

I got Miss Dior eau de toilette for Christmas back in 2013. I picked it out, but I don't think it's the most wearable fragrance and I have to be in the mood to wear it.
It is similar to Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, but with a sharp note running through it which can be a bit too much. Having had it a few years now I am much more of a fan but I still spray it sparingly so that it isn't too overbearing.

Something I find with Dior fragrances is that they are nearly all long lasting which is great. Miss Dior eau de toilette is no exception. The fragrance has notes of neroli oil, Turkish rose, Bulgarian rose and patchouli.

I was given a tester strip with Miss Dior eau de parfum on when I was last in Boots and oh my goodness! It is such a nice fragrance. It has a sweet fruity-floral scent but at the same time it is really deep. It is totally different to the eau de toilette version. I really must add it to my fragrance collection!

The fragrance notes are mandarin, Egyptian jasmine absolute, rose, patchouli and musk.

A Few Shoe Picks!

There are so many shoes I have seen that I like lately. I really like these Ted Baker Peetch metallic heels. Metallic shoes can look cheap and tacky, but these are well done. I love the straight heel and the colour.

I really like these patterned block heel shoes from M&S. They differ from my usual shoe style, but I think they look great!

I love these Ruby Shoo Lola shoes in grey. The fabrics used are lovely and the purple flower and piping are the perfect finishing touches. I even like the pattern on the inside of these shoes.

Another lovely Ruby Shoo pair are these Dee shoes with black and white checks and a light pink flower. The  Mary Jane strap completes them. They could easily dress up a casual dress.

I love the pastel colours and the design of these Iron Fist Lick Me hidden platform heels. Iron Fist do so many different fun shoe designs.

Viva La Juicy Sucre!

Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy Sucre has recently hit stores in the UK.

The bottle design is as over the top as ever. I like the pink spotty bow on this one.
It has top notes of gardenia, mandarin orange and red currant, middle notes of orange blossom, jasmine, peach and almond cream and the base notes are whipped cream, vanilla, sandalwood and cacao. The notes are completely different to the original Viva La Juicy, but I have heard it does smell similar to the original.
I am intrigued to try this fragrance but I am not planning on adding it to my collection. I think it might be too sweet for me.

The Viva La Juicy line has become huge.

There is Viva La Juicy Sucre, the original Viva La Juicy, Viva La Juicy Noir, Viva La Juicy Rose, Viva La Juicy Gold Couture and Viva La Juicy La Fleur.

I am a fan of this line but don't have the Sucre or Gold Couture versions.

The original is by far the most popular. It was first launched in 2008.

There are more Viva La Juicy versions in the range.

Viva La Juicy So Intense, second left, was launched in 2014.

Viva La Juicy Extrait de Parfum was launched in 2016. I like the detail on the bottle for this one.

Viva La Juicy Luxe Parfum was launched in 2013. I'm not keen on the white bottle design.

There is also a 2012 release called Viva La Juicy Nice Stuff For Nice Girl, which comes with a different bottle design, but still has the big, pink bow on it.

It is clear that Juicy Couture is not afraid to cash in on the Viva La Juicy range. I don't think I'll be adding any more Viva La Juicy fragrances to my collection, but if the right one came along I wouldn't rule it out.

Viva La Juicy La Fleur is one of my favourite fragrances and I love the Rose version as well. Of course the original is great too.

I look forward to trying Viva La Juicy Sucre but I'll be surprised if I like it enough to buy it. I expect that it may be too sweet, but I have heard good things about it so you never know!

January Favourites 2017

Here are the products I have been loving this month.

I have used so many different fragrances this month, but I have used Vivienne Westwood's Let It Rock three or four times. It's a lovely, warming, spicy scent.

I have been using this Sanctuary Spa moisture rich foot butter. It is quite thick and has a lovely scent. I have yet to find a Sanctuary Spa product that I don't like.

I have been wearing my bunny print scarf a lot this month. I got it from Oasis a while ago and I love the colour and the print.

I have rediscovered this non-retractable lipstick from Avon in the colour Reddy To Go. It is really easy to apply and lasts on my lips.

I won't pretend that I don't still love my EOS lip balms most of all but I have had this Burt's Bees Vanilla Bean lip balm by my bed and I'm pretty pleased with it.

I bought this Ansoka Green Grass candle from Ikea a while ago. I have been burning it this month and it smells amazing.

I have been loving Dead Sea Spa Magik's Salt Brushing. It has a lovely fresh, citrusy scent. It is a great exfoliator and it contains coconut oil to help hydrate the skin. I would definitely buy this again.

I have been wearing my silver one carat aquamarine pendant a lot this month. I love the colour. It just has a hint of blue. I love the simplicity of the design. I also have the ring to match.

The Best Gift Sets From This Month!

Here are a few of the gift sets I received this month for my birthday. I love raiding the shelves in Boots for gift sets in January. You can get some great deals!

I love Impulse. I have had these minis a few times before in gift sets. I love the design of the tin. True Love is my favourite of the three scents. The mini sprays are really handy for travelling or smaller handbags. I carry the full size 75ml Impulse spray in my normal handbag as it is huge.

How amazing is this Hidden Gems gift set. It has a miniature Versace Bright Crystal perfume. I have the full size bottle which has featured in my favourites posts in the past. I love the Tangle Teezer as well and I was considering buying one with a lid just before Christmas. The nail polishes are great. The Nails Inc polish is clear. I look forward to trying the make-up items as well! I find this set has such a great variety of items.
I love this Ted Baker gift set. It comes with 2 body lotions, 2 body washes, a hand lotion and 2 bubble baths. I also have the body sprays to match. They are really nice. I love the rose gold detail on the packaging.

I love Soap and Glory. Their original scent is gorgeous and I'm impressed with the variety in this gift set. The Scrub Of Your Life is my favourite Soap And Glory product.

Irregular Choice - The Good And The Ugly

I often like to check on the Irregular Choice website to see what they are coming out with. They have a variety of good, bad and ugly shoes at the minute.

I will start with the good..

I really like the colouring on these versions of Hello Ha. I think I prefer the ones with the metallic blue bow.

Lazy River is a really cute design. The pink ones are so bold!

Curtain Call in grey and black is a really nice design with a lovely chunky heel. I love that Irregular Choice are bringing out more chunky heeled shoes. These are very wearable!

I have had my eye on Aurora for a while. These purple ones are lovely. The design is fairly simple, but they still make a statement with the flowers across the front.

The white Lazy River shoes are really cute as well. The iridescent shine is really pretty bringing out pinks, purples and blues. These would be really easy to style.

I love this Peach Melba design with the textured fabric and pretty coloured flowers on the front.

The Lazy River design also comes in green. I think these are really cute. I love shoes with t-bars or Mary Jane straps and bow on the front makes them extra cute.

Now for the ugly...

I actually quite like this Worship design although I can see why some people would find it ugly. I like the chunky heel as well as the over the top bow on the front.

Dreamkiss are some of the ugliest shoes I have ever seen. I'm not a fan of shoes being made to look like animals and the unicorn head on the front is awful. The tail on the back of the shoes adds to the tackiness. I'm not a fan of these ones.

Gimme Five are this outrageously designed pair of boots. I actually think I'd like to own these because I'd be interested to see how I'd style them. I don't think they're that bad, just incredibly over the top.

I also quite like this High Hopes design. They look quite old fashioned and the chunky heel enhances that, but I think they're quite cool.

Pretty Poodle is not a pretty design if you ask me. They are easily the ugliest of the lot. They are that awful shade of pink that is neither bright nor pale and with a giant poodle on the front they are the definition of tacky. I'm sorry to anyone who likes them, but I don't!

Lovingly Gazing are another design that I think is frankly awful. The style is not for me, the pattern just doesn't look good and the pink bow is just the icing on the cake. I wonder if anyone in the world thinks these are the best shoes ever designed. I doubt it to be honest.

There are always Irregular Choice shoes that aren't up my street, but other people may think that about their designs that I like. It's always fun to check out their latest designs at www.irregularchoice.com

Louboutin Decisions!

Happy New Year!

In 2017 I'd love to add another pair of Louboutin's to my shoe collection! I have had my eye on a few different pairs recently for the past few months.

Top of my list are this gorgeous pair. I've had my eye on them since November. They are so gorgeous.

They also come in this stunning sparkly style!

They are just perfect! I love them so much! The black trim look amazing on the sparkly ones!

They have more lovely designs. I think I have included these chunky heels in a previous post. I love chunky heels.

I like these black heels with the gold trim as well.
These black ones with patent lace trim are gorgeous as well. They also make them in grey/white. I don't like the grey/white design as much but I think the design shows better in the photograph of the white pair.

I kind of need those chunky heels. I really wanted the navy ones with the animal print heel, but now I think I want the sparkly ones! Decisions! I hope I get some!
