Trying new perfume and jewellery and jeans shopping!

I tried the new Jimmy Choo fragrance, Blossom today.

It is really fruity. It reminds me of one of Escada's summer fragrances. To me it has quite a tropical scent. The fragrance notes include red fruits, but it reminds me of passion fruit.

I think this fragrance will appeal to younger women.

I am in no rush to add this fragrance to my collection.

I also tried out Chloe Love Story, which I really like.

This fragrance has a similar scent to the original Chloe fragrance and has joined my list of perfumes to add to my collection.

It has notes of neroli, orange blossom and stephanotis (jasmine from Madagascar).

I have been loving jewellery this month and this is one of the rings that I have picked up. I love how detailed it is.

I also bought these gorgeous earrings from H Samuel. I love them and managed to get them in the sale for just £20.00.

I also bought some new jeans. I bought some from New Look not long ago and found them a bit uncomfortable so I ordered these jeans in black and in dark blue by The Collection from Debenhams.

I wore the blue ones today and they have been really comfortable so I'm pleased with these purchases.

Hopefully February will be a cheaper month, but I say that all of the time and I still keep spending!

Oh My Love!

I've seen lots of lovely clothes that I'd like in the sales and on the Topshop website a few dresses caught my eye that were by Oh My Love so I decided to go onto Oh My Love's website and not only did I find that the dresses were a bit cheaper on their website I found lots of other lovely clothes.

I ended up ordering two dresses and a skirt and I didn't end up buying the Oh My Love dress that was also on Topshop's website.

This is the dress I liked:

It is £39.00 from Topshop, but it is in the sale for £25.00 at ohmylovelondon.com. I didn't buy it because I liked the others that I found better.

I ended up purchasing another dress I saw, which I liked even better, but it is still velvet.
I love this one with the detailed collar and short sleeves. It was £22.00 in the sale.

I don't usually buy anything velvet, but I also found a lovely velvet skirt that I liked so bought that for just £11.00 reduced from £22.00. I absolutely love it. It's my bargain of the year so far, but it has since gone down to only £8.00!

I ordered one more item, which wasn't as I expected it to be. I genuinely thought it was going to be a shiny satin type material because of the shine shown on the photos, but it is actually another velvet dress! Haha! I still really like it all the same. I paid £22.00 for this one, but looking on the website it has since gone down to just £8.00, which is rather annoying!

Jimmy Choo Love and DKNY Delicious Delights

I'm feeling rather annoyed at the minute because I adore Jimmy Choo fragrances and I noticed that they have announced a 'new' fragrance they are calling, Jimmy Choo Love.
The fragrance notes are exactly the same as the notes in the original Jimmy Choo eau de parfum and looking at the photo of the 'new' version all they are doing is taking bottles of the original Jimmy Choo eau de parfum and sliding a limited edition sleeve over the top of the normal packaging.

The fragrance will only be available in the smaller 40ml bottles.

This is going to make collectors look like mugs. It's not a new fragrance and they couldn't even be bothered to put it in a new box, yet they think it's ok to give it a different name and justify it by putting it in a cardboard sleeve.

I think it's misleading giving a perfume more than one name.

In other news I have heard there are three new DKNY fragrances coming out this year.
I must admit this is another example of a company that take the mick a bit releasing new Delicious fragrances three at a time trying to make as much money as possible in the shortest space of time possible.
At least they change the bottles and scents.
I have bought quite a lot of different fragrances from the Delicious rang and I look forward to trying these too.
Once these three are released there will be a total of 46 Delicious fragrances that have been released since the original Be Delicious kicked it all off back in 2004 and that's just the women's range. There are also Delicious fragrances for men.

So these Delicious Delights are:

Delicious Delights Cool Swirl, which has notes of black cranberry, violet leaf, coconut water, magnolia, jasmine, creamy pistachio sorbet, heliotrope, musk and patchouli.
This one comes in a green and yellow bottle.

Delicious Delights Fruity Rooty, which has notes of mandarin, raspberry, blueberry, rose, violet, candied apple sorbet, lily and vanilla.
This Delight comes in a pink and purple coloured bottle.

Finally there is Delicious Delights Dreamsicle, which has notes of mandarin, raspberry, blueberry, green apple, peach nectar, apricot sorbet, cedar, sandalwood and vanilla.
This comes in an orange and pink bottle.

More Sales Purchases 2015

Happy New Year! I have broken one of my New Year's resolutions already! I was going to try to make planned purchases instead of impulse buying, but I've been off work today, having a lazy day, browsing the internet and I have ended up making a few purchases.

Since Boxing Day I have found myself shopping online in the sales and have ended up spending a fortune on things that I didn't necessarily need, but would have cost a fortune more!

I wanted to buy some new boots because at the end of November I bought these amazing boots from New Look for just £14.00 reduced from £27.99 and I haven't stopped wearing them since.

They look even better in real life and they go with everything and they are unbelievably comfortable. I was going to buy them again so that when they wear out I have a spare pair, but they sold out quite quickly and there are loads of New Look boots I've had my eye on so I decided to buy a few more pairs of boots a few days ago:
I ordered this pair for just £15.00 reduced from £34.99.
I'm hoping these flat boots will be really comfortable. I love the look of them. They cost £15.00 reduced from £29.99.

I bought these 'dark red' boots with the contrast sole for £18.00 reduced from £59.99.

These tan boots also have a lighter coloured sole and I thought they'd look really nice with a good pair of jeans and again I'm hoping they'll be comfortable. These cost £18.00 reduced from £59.99.

Finally I bought these black boots for £20.00 reduced from £44.99.
They haven't arrived yet, but I'm hoping they'll all be ok. I never know whether or not to go a size up for boots. I'm usually a size 4 in heels  and a size 5 in flats and I thought I'd bought my lovely brown New Look boots in a size 4, but when I looked they are actually a size 5 and I've ordered all of the heeled boots in a size 4 this time so hopefully they will still fit ok and I won't have to take them back to attempt to change them as I'll be lucky if the shops will have any left in size 5.

Yesterday I found another fabulous offer from Boots. I bought Yves Saint Laurent's Dare To Be gift set, which has a 30ml bottle of Opium eau de toilette, a lipstick and a nail polish, both in very wearable colours. The gift set was an amazing £25.00 reduced from £50.00. The lipstick on its own costs £25.00 so it's as if you're getting the fragrance and nail polish for free!
I was really chuffed with that purchase, but they have now sold out and I'm worried that they will send an email saying it was out of stock. I always think that is going to happen, but to be fair sometimes it does. Look at my first blog post from December when my Elizabeth Arden lipstick gift set was unavailable at Debenhams. I was really disappointed, but managed to get the same set at House Of Fraser.

This morning I remembered that when I'd tried to buy the Elizabeth Arden gift set from Debenhams I found that I had £15.00 of beauty points to spend there, but they were refunded when they couldn't fulfil the order so I had a look at their website to see if there was anything nice I could spend them on.

I decided on Marc Jacobs Dot gift set containing the eau de parfum, a 75ml shower gel and a 75ml body lotion.

The website suggests that this is a 125ml fragrance, but I'm pretty sure the largest bottle of Dot is only 100ml so yet another screw up by Debenhams.
It was only £35.35 reduced from £53.00, but I got it for £20.35 as I had £15 of beauty points.

This afternoon I found myself on Topshop's website where I ordered this pretty, pink, lace collar top, which was £8.00 reduced from £16.00.

I also bought 2 plain black vest tops both the same. I like Topshop's vest tops. They were £6 each or 2 for £10 so I bought 2.

I then put in another order with New Look.
I bought a pair of light blue canvas shoes, which will be great for spring and summer. I think these shoes will be quite easy to wear as well; they will go with a lot of outfits. These were only £4.00 and they were only £7.99 before they were reduced.

I also bought these burgundy patent heels. I feel bad for buying these as I have so many pairs of heels and I have loads of pairs I have never worn, but they were only £7.00 down from £14.99.
They are a sensible height so I should get plenty of wear out of them.

I also bought some jeans. I have been thinking of getting a new pair of jeans for a while. I really don't think I've bought a normal pair of every day jeans since 2010!
I have bought a few coloured pairs of jeans and one or two pairs of skinny jeans, but I have hardly worn them.
I used to be in skirts and dresses all of the time, but the last year I have found myself wearing more and more smart trousers and occasionally old pairs of jeans.
I was planning to buy an expensive pair, but thought I'd start out with these ones from New Look. I had heard about New Look doing a great range of jeans at a good price and these were just £12.99 and that is there full price so I'll have to see how I find them.

So that concludes my sales spending for now. Hopefully the rest of the year won't be quite so expensive!

My 2014 perfumes!

I have built up quite a collection of new fragrances in 2014.

I have bought 19 new releases from this year.

Marc Jacobs released more limited edition Daisy fragrances, Daisy Delight and Daisy Eau So Fresh Delight, both of which I love.

Daisy Dream came afterwards with a unique bottle design.

Jimmy Choo have had some fantastic releases in 2014. Exotic was re-released in an orange bottle for 2014.

Flash London Club was a fragrance I was really excited about. It has a similar scent to the original Flash, which is my favourite.

Stars is a limited edition release from Jimmy Choo. It was probably the last thing my fiancé ever bought me before becoming my husband and it was a great gift. It has a scent along the same lines as the original Jimmy Choo fragrance and the longevity is just as impressive.

Cacharel Noa L'Eau was a limited edition release for the summer. The original Noa fragrance is one of my favourites and this version is a light, fresh and slightly aquatic interpretation.

DKNY's MYNY was released in the summer and it is something really different from DKNY. I have lots of fragrances from the Be Delicious range, but this is a lovely, sophisticated, floral scent. I haven't heard much hype about it, but it really is a lovely scent.

DKNY did release a few new fragrances from the Be Delicious range, which I bought into.
There was Golden Delicious Sparkling Apple, Be Delicious Sparkling Apple and Be Delicious Fresh Blossom Sparkling Apple. In the UK these fragrances are only available from The Fragrance Shop.
They are all lovely and fresh, but they do smell similar to previous releases from the Be Delicious range.

Vera Wang Forever Vera is very difficult to get hold of. It was supposed to be exclusive to Kohl's in the USA. It is a really nice, well balanced fragrance. It is quite a mature scent.

Vera Wang's Princess Power is the latest release from the Princess collection. Like last year's release, Pink Princess, Princess Power is only available in 30ml or 50ml bottles, which annoyed me. It is a lovely, crowd pleasing, fruity-floral fragrance.

Vera Wang Be Jeweled Rouge is another 2014 release. It is really sweet and fruity. I love it.

Lolita Lempicka Minuit Sonne is an amazing fragrance. The deep liquorice flower note seems more prominent than in the original Lolita Lempicka fragrance. I love the fragrance, but the bottle has glitter on it, which comes off onto your hands, which is a bit annoying.

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid is a strong, warming fragrance. I love this fragrance. It is unique, mature and lasts well.

Nina Ricci's La Tentation de Nina is another beautiful scent. It is bakery-sweet and really different to other Nina releases. I think this was a great offering and I look forward to trying next year's Nina Ricci fragrance, Les Délices de Nina.

Juicy Couture's Juicy Couture Malibu was released for the summer alongside Couture La La Malibu, which I have not picked up yet. Juicy Couture Malibu is a lovely summer scent. It is similar to the original, Juicy Couture fragrance, but is a bit less harsh. It has a very light, fresh feel to it. I really like this fragrance, but I have to admit it isn't the longest lasting fragrance.

Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere isn't technically a new fragrance for 2014. It was originally released in 2007, but in 2014 it was released in the classic, rectangular Chanel bottle. It is a lovely scent. It is similar to the original No 5, but this one seems lighter and has a more sparkling opening.

2014 has seen the release of many other lovely fragrances that I have not managed to add to my collection yet and I hope 2015 will bring lots of new and exciting fragrances that will no doubt mean my collection will grow and my shelf space will shrink!

What I Got For Christmas 2014 And A Little Bit Of Sales Shopping!

I was totally spoilt this Christmas and I love every gift that I received.

My husband bought me the new Tom Ford fragrance, Velvet Orchid, a gorgeous green floral dress from New Look, a Lord and Berry lip crayon, McBusted's DVD (I was a huge Busted fan) and a beautiful sapphire necklace.

As you may know I am a huge fan of fragrances and I got a few for Christmas.
As well as Tom Ford's Velvet Orchid from my husband I got a FCUK gift set, which has a lovely, fresh scent.

Lovely is a fragrance by Dainty and Heaps, a UK based company that I hadn't previously heard of. The fragrance has notes including star anise and liquorice and the scent reminds me of Diesel's Fuel For Life Unlimited. It's warm and spicy.

Avon's new fragrance, Christian Lacroix Ambre is one that I wanted as I have the other three Christian Lacroix fragrances by Avon; Rouge, Absynthe and Nuit.
Ambre is a lovely scent and the fragrance came with a Christian Lacroix make-up bag and a lipstick and eye shadow.

I also received a mini fragrance gift set with miniatures of Moschino Pink Bouquet, Ghost Deep Night, Lipsy London and Ted Baker Sweet Treat Polly, which I thought was a lovely gift set as it allows me to try out lots of new fragrances and they are great for carrying around in your handbag. I already have Ghost Deep Night, but I adore it so I'm pleased to have a mini bottle of it now as well.

I received so many gift sets.

I hadn't tried Soap and Glory's new sweet lime scented products until I received the gift set on Christmas day and I love it.

The Baylis and Harding gift set I received is sweet mandarin and grapefruit scented, which I love.

Baylis and Harding also make the Beauticology gift sets and I received a Beauticology gift set (to the
left of the Nivea gift set) with vanilla frosting foot lotion and strawberry frosting foot soak crystals with some red and white fluffy socks, which I took out of the box as I have already worn them.

I received another Beauticology gift set (bottom right) with a cranberry body wash, which smells lovely and a gingerbread sparkle body wash, which has glitter in it and smells lovely. There is also a strawberry frosting scented soap in the set.

There are two gift sets from Next. One is a set of 4 lip glosses and the other is from the Gold range, which includes a small rollerball of the Gold eau de parfum, a scented hand cream, a shimmery nail polish and a pot of nail gems.

I also got plenty of candles. The Glade warm spice candle is really strong, but I love it!
The set of three candles with the silver floral patterned holders are very pretty and they are vanilla and roasted chestnut scented. They smell really nice, but I think the scent will be a lot more obvious when I start to burn them.
The set of three purple tealight holders shown at the bottom of the photo are a lovely design as well. They look very festive.

As well as my green floral dress I got a few bits and pieces of clothing including a gorgeous grey bird print scarf, some white slippers, some black and pink gloves, which will be great for the rest of winter as I intend to take up running, some big thick Lipsy socks and two pairs of pyjamas.
I love both pairs of pyjamas. One pair are Disney with Winnie The Pooh on them and the other pair have patterned bottoms and a lovely fox on the top, which I think is such a cute design.
I was not disappointed in the slightest to receive two pairs of pyjamas.

I got lots of other bits and pieces shown in the first photo including a clock, a calendar, a purse, some floral note cards, bubble bath, a Tangle Teezer, sweets, a bottle of wine, a wine bottle holder, some ageing cream, a glass Christmas tree decoration, hand cream and a memo block.

On top of all this I got lots of Christmas money, which I bought an emerald and diamond cluster ring with from the Ernest Jones website. I mentioned the ring on my blog over a year ago as I have wanted it for so long, but unfortunately I had to take it back because I found the emerald's imperfections distracting. It looked like there was a crack running through it and I didn't want to pay so much money for something that I was a bit disappointed with.
To me this ring is the perfect design so I am not too pleased that I remain emeraldless after lusting after this ring for so long and even after finally making the big purchase.
I have thought about buying it again and hoping for a better emerald, but it was on sale when I bought it the first time and now it has gone back up to full price so the idea isn't too tempting.

Finally on to what I got in the sales. I haven't been to the shops, but I have had dozens of emails from online retailers, whose websites I have used in the past and I ended up resisting spending on most websites, but I did make a few purchases from boots.com.

One of my favourite ever perfumes is Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine, which was released in Boots in early 2013, but as it was a limited edition fragrance it is no longer available.
I loved the Sunshine range from Marc Jacobs and managed to get a second bottle of Oh Lola! Sunsheer and a second bottle of Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine, but Boots were selling Daisy Sunshine again on their website on Boxing Day so they have maybe listed old stock they have found and it was only £22.50 (originally £45.00)!
I already have the fragrance, but I never ever wear it because I'm too scared of my bottle running out and it was the same with the other two scents from the range, but now I will be able to rest knowing I have a spare bottle if my first bottle runs out.

Boots.com has actually sold out of Daisy Sunshine already, but hopefully they will still be able to fulfil my order.

I also ordered a mini Smashbox gift set with a mini mascara, a mini under eye primer and a mini foundation primer, which was £12.50 reduced from £30.00.

I had asked for the Lord and Berry lip crayon that my husband bought me and I really like it. I found a set on the Boots website with two Lord and Berry lip crayons. It is actually called the lip library gift set. You can get different colours, but I ordered the a red and a pink. The colours are called Fire and Fucsia (a foreign spelling of Fuchsia!?)
I'm hoping the pink isn't too bright as I think pinks can sometimes look really tacky, but the gift set was £13.33 reduced from £20.00 so I'm happy with that.

I also bought a few fragrances from allbeauty.com on Boxing Day to put away for my sisters for their birthdays because they had a deal on where if you spent £85.00 you could have £10.00 off.

I always say this, but I am going to try not to buy much in the sales because I've been spoilt so much this Christmas and there is nothing that I really need so hopefully I'll be able to resist the temptation to look online or in the shops.
It is the most difficult time of year to give up shopping, but I'll do my best.
